Alaska Airlines in August was the most punctual among the nine North American network carriers with an on-time performance ratio of 88.2 percent,

according to FlightStats. It was followed by US Airways (85.3 percent), Delta (84.9 percent) and Air Canada (83.3 percent). Southwest Airlines ranked last among the nine with on-time performance of 71.8 percent. United Airlines customers experienced the longest average delay in August at 15.8 minutes, followed by Southwest (14.1 minutes) and American (13.8 minutes). Alaska had the shortest average delay during the month at 5.4 minutes.
