Airberlin reported 2012 net income of €6.8 million,
its first annual profit since 2007, reversing the €420.4 million loss for 2011. The carrier attributed the profit in part to beneficial one-time items. The number of Airberlin passengers in 2012 decreased by nearly 6 percent year over year, though capacity reductions helped grow the carrier's load factor by nearly 2 percentage points. Per-passenger revenue increased nearly 8 percent to €120.05.
