Meeting Professionals International launched a membership community and advisory council aimed at strengthening its support among medical meetings professionals. Through the MPI-MD initiative, the association will provide education, career development programs, resources and private consulting, as well as an online member community. The association in February started forming the MPI-MD group within its global membership, and it currently has more than 800 planner and supplier members, according to MPI. The MPI-MD advisory council is made up of more than 20 healthcare meeting professionals, who will serve until December 2018. The council will host its first meeting during MPI's 2016 World Education Congress in Atlantic City, N.J., in June.
