Partnership Travel Consulting will expand the capabilities of its Fare Audit services to cover off-channel bookings collected by corporate data capture technology provider Traxo under the terms of a new partnership, the companies announced Tuesday.
With the partnership, buyers can consent to have their data flow automatically between Traxo and PTC "in near real-time," according to the companies. That will enable Fare Audit—which PTC acquired earlier this year—to audit airfares for both managed and unmanaged bookings, looking at other fares on the same flight to compare what was booked off-channel to the lowest fare available within the company's policy. Companies also have the option to expand that auditing to other flight alternatives compliant within travel policy.
"With access to off-channel bookings, we will ensure that no transaction goes unaudited, helping clients uncover missed savings and reduce policy leakage in ways that weren’t previously possible," PTC founder and CEO and Fare Audit president Andy Menkes said in a statement.
PTC and Traxo eventually plan to expand auditing abilities to include hotel rates, noting that capability "presents additional complexities actively being addressed for future release."
