International SOS and Control Risk have jointly released the Travel Risk
Map 2017. The map, available
for free download in a poster-size format and in an interactive digital format
on ISOS's website, color-codes countries' medical risk level and uses icons to
indicate travel risk levels. This is the second year the companies have
released such a map. Although medical and travel risks can change quickly, as with
the Zika virus this year, Herle-Xavier Carn, Europe
security director for ISOS and Control Risks, said the quick-reference map is
an opportunity for companies to get the conversation going. "The map is
good, but it doesn't replace a call to one of our assistance centers where we
have the combination of logistical and medical resources," he said.
