Travelport has launched an API platform, Travelport TripServices, which the travel technology company said is capable of curating and analyzing content across multiple sources in a single connection.
Travelport said the launch of TripServices is a step toward its move to be "an AI-ready travel technology company," with the ability to offer connections to air, hotel and ancillary services. That content is managed with "embedded orchestration," in which machine-learning models rank content and provide the offers that are most relevant to a trip, according to Travelport.
The company also has built in servicing capabilities to help agencies manage changes, disruptions and cancellations, the company said. Travelport said that is in "advanced discussions" with major agency groups and travel management companies regarding deployments and plans to announce those later this year.
"AI agents need clean, structured, normalized data and deterministic APIs to operate effectively. That is what Travelport TripServices provides," Travelport chief product and technology officer Andrew Jordan said in a statement. "As agentic travel workflows move from concept to reality, Travelport TripServices gives builders the foundation they need: an API platform that behaves predictably, surfaces the right content and handles the complexity of travel fulfillment automatically."
Travelport also said the platform will provide the basis for its recently announced collaboration with Cognizant and Anthropic, with which the company plans to speed up its AI innovation capabilities.
