BCD Travel has hired former sustainability firm director Olivia Ruggles-Brise as VP of sustainability, the travel management company announced.
Ruggles-Brise, who started on Monday, is responsible for aligning and driving initiatives for BCD's sustainability focus areas—which include sustainable procurement, service performance, workplace practices, charity and community support, environment and governance, ethics and compliance—and collaborating with industry stakeholders. Her appointment is part of BCD's aim to take "broader accountability across our entire sustainability program," BCD president and CEO John Snyder said in a statement.
Before joining BCD, Ruggles-Brise was director for consulting and research firm Greenview, which helps hospitality companies design environmental, social and governance strategies. She also spent a decade overseeing policy, strategy and sustainability initiatives at the World Travel & Tourism Council.
Ruggles-Brise reports to BCD SVP and Advito managing director April Bridgeman.
