Domestic U.S. business travel has grown by 5 percent year
over year since March, according to data published by Flight Centre Travel
Group on Friday.
The data, based on bookings within Flight Centre's corporate
travel brands Corporate Traveler and FCM Travel from March through the end of
May, indicate that "despite recent uncertainty, it's clear that the connection between
business travel and economic growth is strong, which has been reflected in
the way that companies across the U.S. are still investing
in business travel," according to Flight Centre. The growth rate for
the three-month period is higher than the 2 percent growth rate on domestic
bookings in April that Flight
Centre reported in recent weeks.
Flight Centre also highlighted the cities with the most
business travel bookings over the past three months, with New York, Chicago,
Boston, Dallas and Las Vegas leading the list. Las Vegas also was the market
with the largest year-over-year growth in the period, up 26 percent compared
with the same period in 2024. Other cities with the highest growth rates
include Orlando, up 19 percent year over year, and Nashville, up 17 percent
year over year.
