Monasterio, A Belmond Hotel travel42 Professional Hotel Review
Location and History
Occupying a corner of an idyllic square, up a steep side street two blocks north of Plaza de Armas and near two quality museums, this is one of Peru's most engaging colonial hotels.
A lovingly restored 16th-century monastery, this place is a destination in itself. An Incan palace once occupied the site. Although converted into a hotel in 1965 by the Peruvian government, the monastery remains a historic landmark.
