This large, resort-like hotel was a landmark in Almaty when it was first constructed in the '90s as the city's largest and most luxurious. The opening was attended by dignitaries, including the president of Kazakhstan.
It is located in the southeastern region of Almaty, across from a series of large parks, the mayor's office and other government buildings. There are many business headquarters and major museums nearby.
