Worldwide hotel bookings through global distribution system channels in October increased 5.3 percent year over year,
the first month since April 2012 to outpace the comparable period in 2011, according to Pegasus Solutions. The average rate on those bookings was down 1.6 percent compared with October 2011. In North America, GDS bookings were up 0.8 percent and the average rate up 0.3 percent.
