U.S. hotel average daily rates increased by 3.4 percent year over year in August,
according to STR, and were up in every major U.S. market
except Washington, D.C., where they were down only slightly. Rates were up by
15.3 percent in San Francisco, 12.8 percent in Nashville and 10.8 percent in
Miami. U.S. hotel occupancy reached 66.2 percent in August, up 3.7 percent from
the year prior.
