Transient business bookings at North American hotels through July 2014 are trending 5.5 percent higher than they were this time last year,

and the average daily rate on those bookings is up 4.4 percent, according to TravelClick’s North American Hospitality Review. Group bookings for the period are up 1 percent year over year with an ADR increase of 1.3 percent. TravelClick’s data examine group commitments and individual reservations made by July 28, 2013, in 25 major North American markets.
