Third-quarter 2011 rates at Accor properties increased year over year in both Europe and the United States.
Rates at upscale and midscale properties in Europe were up 1.9 percent, while economy hotels in Europe and the United States increased rates by 1.8 percent and 1.7 percent, respectively. In the upscale and midscale tier, rates increased the most in Belgium (5.5 percent) and the Netherlands (5.2 percent) and were up in all other European countries except Germany (down 2.5 percent) and Italy (down 0.5 percent). Accor also reported that rates were up significantly in Brazil thanks to increased demand. Accor's overall revenue for the quarter was up 2.7 percent.
