The average daily rate at InterContinental Hotels Group properties increased by 1.8 percent year over year in the second quarter,
the
company reported on Tuesday. ADR was up 2.5 percent in the Americas and 2.3
percent in Asia, the Middle East and Australia but down by 2 percent in Greater
China. ADR in Europe was nearly flat year over year. IHG's occupancy was up 1.4
percentage points globally and across all regions, though nearly flat in
Greater China. The company's net profit during the first half of the year was
$462 million, up from $279 million in the first half of 2012.
