The average daily rate at Choice Hotels International properties increased by 1.8 percent year over year to $74.02 during the second quarter,
the company reported on Friday. ADR increased at all brands except Clarion (down 0.4 percent), with the largest increases at the Ascend Collection (9.1 percent) and the MainStay and Suburban brands (each up 3.8 percent). Occupancy increased by 0.9 percentage points to 57.5 percent. Net income for the quarter was $28.2 million, down from $31.9 million in the second quarter of 2012.
