Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide will restructure its senior management and organization as several high-ranking executives retire.
Starwood will combine Latin America and North America into a single region, with current Latin America president Osvaldo Librizzi and Starwood Vacation Ownership president Sergio Rivera serving as co-presidents, effective July 1. Stephen Ho, Starwood senior vice president of acquisitions and development in China, will lead the Asia/Pacific region, also effective July 1. Executives retiring in the coming months include hotel group president Matt Avril, North America president Denise Coll and Asia/Pacific chairman and president Miguel Ko. With Avril's departure, all major regional presidents will report directly to Starwood president and CEO Frits van Paasschen, as will sales organization senior vice president Christie Hicks, who leads the company's corporate sales efforts.
