Hyatt Hotels Corp. and the Unite Here labor union on Monday announced a tentative deal resolving a years-long dispute.
Pending approval by members of union that represents many Hyatt workers, the deal provides union contracts through 2018 for Hyatt employees in Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco and Honolulu. The contracts provide retroactive wage increases and maintain health care and pension benefits as well as a process in which employees at some Hyatt hotels can vote on whether they wish to be represented by Unite Here. If the contracts are ratified, the union also will end its global boycott of Hyatt, which it started last year.
