Global distribution system data for November showed "unwavering corporate demand," with hotel bookings up 5.4 percent year over year,
a larger increase than October's 4 percent, according to Pegasus Solutions. The average daily rate for GDS bookings increased more slowly than in recent months, up 2 percent from November 2010. Pegasus said rates are "progressing toward pre-recessionary levels" and that growth would continue into next year. November GDS hotel bookings in North America increased 4.7 percent year over year and the average rate rose 3.1 percent. GDS bookings in the rest of the world increased 6 percent and the average rate edged upward by 1.7 percent.
