Extended Stay Hotels Taps Concord Exec As COO
Extended Stay Hotels this week announced that it has hired an executive at Concord Hospitality Enterprises Co. to serve as its new chief operating officer.
Robert Micklash, who has worked at Concord for 11 years, most recently as COO, is joining the Spartanburg, S.C.-based Extended Stay Hotels to oversee day-to-day operations and its corporate support departments. "His nearly three decades of experience in the hospitality industry will be a great asset to our company and will allow us to further reinforce our leadership position within the extended-stay segment," president and CEO Gary DeLapp said in a statement.
While at Concord, Micklash helped to more than triple the number of hotels in its portfolio, according to Extended Stay America. In addition to his work at Concord, Micklash also has worked in senior management positions at Marriott International and Residence Inn.
Extended Stay Hotels owns and operates more than 680 hotels, comprising about 76,000 rooms, in the United States and Canada. Its brands include Extended Stay America, Homestead Studio Suites Hotels, StudioPlus Deluxe Studios, Crossland Economy Studios and Extended Stay Deluxe.
