Committed corporate transient hotel bookings in the top 25 North American markets from April through March 2014 are 8.6 percent higher than they were this time last year,
according to TravelClick. The average daily rate on those bookings is up 3 percent. Committed group occupancy for the period is up 1.9 percent, with group ADR is up 3.8 percent. TravelClick executive vice president for enterprise research and development Tim Hart noted that "business customers will play a leading role in occupancy growth" during the second quarter, as committed business transient occupancy during that period is up 10 percent year over year, with ADR up 2.1 percent.
