Carlson Wagonlit Travel predicted higher corporate airfares in 2010 but lower hotel rates and ground transportation pricing.
The travel management company estimated that domestic airfares would increase 3 percent to 5 percent, with international airfares up as much as 6 percent for economy class tickets and as much as 8 percent for business class tickets. Hotel pricing is expected drop as much 8 percent "depending upon when 2009 rates were last negotiated." On the ground, CWT predicted a car rental pricing cut of 1 percent to 3 percent, and a limo/black car pricing decline of up to 5 percent.
