Bank of America-Owned Charlotte Ritz-Carlton Hotel Opens Doors
The 18-story, 146-room Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte officially opened on Oct. 1, bringing the North Carolina city its first deluxe hotel and the banking giant Bank of America scores of new guest rooms and meeting space adjacent to its headquarters. First announced in 2005, the Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte is owned by Bank of America, which estimates that at least half of its rooms will be used for visiting employees and guests. Bank of America's name, however, is no longer a part of the hotel's name.
The hotel features 12,000 square feet of meeting space, including a ballroom that can seat 480 guests and nine function rooms, and such environmental flourishes as an in-house water purification system, a state-of-the-art system to circulate outside air into guest rooms and a vegetated reflective roof.
