Average room rates in London in November climbed 5 percent year over year to £138.20 ($225.12),
according to business advisory and accountancy firm BDO. Occupancy rose 1.4 points to 84 percent. BDO attributed the improvement to a resurgence in the meetings market, while noting softer demand from leisure customers. Average room rates in the rest of the United Kingdom rose 3.7 percent to £61.41 ($100.03), with occupancy improving from 69.4 percent to 72.5 percent.
