Virgin Atlantic has pushed back some of its planned service restoration but now plans to resume service to 17 destinations from August through October.
The carrier still plans to resume flights from London Heathrow to Hong Kong, Los Angeles and New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport in late July, but now plans to restart service to Shanghai on Aug. 4 and to Orlando—from both London Heathrow and Manchester—on Aug. 24, subject to approval from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Other service set to resume in August includes: Barbados on Aug. 1, San Francisco on Aug. 4, Tel Aviv on Aug. 9, Miami on Aug. 18, Lagos on Aug. 23 and Atlanta on Aug. 25.
In September, Virgin Atlantic plans to resume service from London Heathrow to Las Vegas, Seattle, Washington, D.C., Mumbai, New Delhi and Johannesburg. In October, it plans to resume service to Boston and Antigua as well as service between Manchester and Barbados.
Service adjustments for Covid-19 include requiring enhanced cleaning practices, health packs for passengers that include medical-grade face masks and simplified hot food service.
