American Airlines plans to expand a codesharing deal with Qatar Airways, placing its code on the Gulf carrier's service between Doha and 16 countries, the carrier announced Friday.
Pending "any necessary government codeshare approvals," according to American, the carrier would place its code on Qatar Airlines flights between Doha and Ethiopia, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Malaysia, Maldives, Oman, Pakistan, Seychelles, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Thailand, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
American plans to launch on June 4 service between Doha and New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport.
The carriers, each members of the Oneworld airline alliance, restarted a codesharing relationship in 2020 after ending it in 2017.
