American Airlines on March 8, 2026, will launch nonstop service between New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and Edinburgh, Scotland, the carrier announced Thursday.
The seasonal flights will operate through Oct. 24 with Airbus A321XLR aircraft configured with 20 Flagship Suite, 12 premium economy and 123 main cabin seats. American's first Airbus A321XLR arrived last week, and the carrier said it is the first U.S. airline to receive that model.
The carrier this year also launched nonstop Philadelphia-Edinburgh seasonal service, and on March 28 will resume that route, which will operate with Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
American in August announced an additional five new European routes for summer 2026, and earlier this week said it would resume JFK-Tel Aviv service beginning March 28, 2026.
