Retailing giant
Walmart is estimated to have increased
business travel spend significantly in 2024 to $94 million
U.S.-booked air volume. The
company is notable in managed travel as a major customer
of challenger technology platform Spotnana.
Revenue at Walmart
in 2024 rose to $681 billion from $648 billion the year before. It
issued guidance in
August 2025 that net sales for 2025 will increase 3.75
percent to 4.75
percent, and operating income will grow by 3.5 percent
to 5.5 percent.
Walmart has 2.1
million “associates” as it terms its employees, of which 1.6
million are in the U.S. These figures are unchanged from 2024. The retailer has
announced in internal
memos that it is eliminating around 2,000
corporate positions, according to media reports, but it
has also announced publicly plans to expand in
Mexico. Walmart operates
in 19 countries worldwide.
