Biotech company Amgen spent $36.5 million on U.S.-booked air volume in 2024, according to a BTN estimate. It is understood to have moved across to Concur’s new booking platform in 2024.
Global revenue increased 19 percent year over year in 2024 to $33.4 billion. Amgen increased its adoption of electric vehicles to 687 globally as it works toward a target of 1,800 EVs by 2027, representing 30 percent of its total fleet.
In the U.S., field-based employees must select EVs or hybrid vehicles for Amgen business activities, and in 2024 its fleet’s carbon emissions were 33 percent lower than in its 2019 baseline.
The company had 28,000 employees at the end of 2024, up 5 percent on the prior year, partly attributable to the acquisition of Horizon Therapeutics in late 2023. More recently, it has announced new or expanded manufacturing facilities in North Carolina and Ohio, which are expected to generate 750 new jobs in 2025.
