Revenue increased 3.5 percent to $24.1 billion, and operating expenses increased 2.9 percent to $20.8 billion. Raytheon has pursued remote conferencing options to limit air travel, including a global videoconferencing service and an integrated Web-based system. For 2015, the company reported 75,555 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent due to air travel booked through its travel agency, BCD Travel. Employees flew 16 percent more miles in 2015 than they had in 2014. BCD Travel has served as Raytheon's consolidated travel management company since 2007. At year-end, the company employed 63,000, up from 61,000 in 2015.
