IAG, parent of British Airways and Iberia, reported that premium traffic in January increased 2.7 percent year over year,
ahead of the 0.3 percent growth in non-premium traffic. Measured in revenue passenger kilometers, the group's overall traffic was up 6.8 percent in domestic U.K. and Spanish markets, 5.5 percent in the rest of Europe and 1.2 percent on North American routes. By carrier, BA experienced traffic growth of 5.1 percent while Iberia's January traffic dropped 10.3 percent.
