Hong Kong Airlines announced the indefinite suspension of its all-business class service between Hong Kong and London Gatwick.

Effective September 10, the suspension will come six months after operations commenced. Other than Moscow, London is the only non-Asian city in the carrier's network. It cited "the continuing weak outlook in Europe, combined with the strength of regional business within Asia." Hong Kong Airlines' London route will join a list of failed premium-only ventures, including transatlantic carriers Eos, Silverjet and Maxjet, which competed briefly in the middle of the last decade.
