Global passenger traffic in October rose 6.6 percent year over year, according to the International Air Transport Association.

Capacity during the period was roughly flat, leaving load factors intact. "October traffic results reinforce expectations for a strong fourth quarter traffic performance in line with rising business confidence and better economic performance in the major advanced economies," according to IATA director general and CEO Tony Tyler.
