Finnair announced it would be "simplifying the purchasing of airline tickets and offering its customers five new ticket types," effective Nov. 28.
Among the new categories is fully refundable "business," described as "business class premium services, full flexibility," including meals, lounge access, two free checked bags, advance seat selection and priority check-in, security, boarding and baggage claim. "Business saver" airfares are similar, but are "partially" refundable and have "limited" flexibility. They are available only for intercontinental flights. The other three fare types—"pro", "value" and "basic"—apply to economy class and come with varying levels of refundability, flexibility and extra services. According to the carrier, "the goal is to improve clarity in ticket pricing and offer fares to all segments of customers."
