European Commission approved a joint venture of Amadeus IT Group and Sabre Holdings called Moneydirect
The , which is planning to offer processing and settlement of non-air travel services payments. The companies have said the JV would "integrate the existing financial instruments already used by the travel industry into a best-in-class, multi-channel, multi-global distribution system platform, which will allow travel industry players to effectively manage all aspects of their payment needs in a flexible, easy-to-use solution." A Travelport executive last month said the company supported the idea, but could not officially comment on participation.
