The United Kingdom Department for Transport loosened carry-on baggage restrictions
in place since 14 Aug. Specifically, DfT eased size restrictions to allow passengers to carry larger items onto aircraft departing from U.K. airports. It left unchanged the number of permissible carry-on items (one per passenger) and bans on most liquids. EasyJet said DfT's policy change is "particularly welcomed by those traveling on business or taking short breaks," and called for a further relaxation of carry-on restrictions.
