Star Alliance approved Taiwan-based Eva Air's membership application,

though it will take "at least 12 months to integrate systems and ensure that the new member airline is fully prepared," according to a Star spokeswoman. "Eva Air's network of around 60 destinations will add Kaohsiung in Taiwan and Surabaya in Indonesia as unique airports to the Star Alliance network," according to the Star Alliance announcement.
