Marriott International experienced strong global revenue trends during its fiscal first quarter
, including a 7 percent increase in non-North American systemwide revenue per available room night. "Asia was particularly strong, as RevPAR in China increased 11 percent," said executive vice president and CFO Arne Sorenson. "The U.K. is showing considerable strength, particularly business travel to London. Performance in continental Europe remains mixed, with strength in eastern Europe, but only modest RevPAR improvements in Germany and France."
