Sabre Travel Network announced a new traveler profile system meant to completely replace the current Stars system.
Residing "inside the
Sabre environment in a relational database and built in open systems,"
Sabre Profiles includes a new graphical user interface part of the Sabre Red
Workspace and connections to human resources data feeds and other Sabre services,
according STN senior vice president Chris Kroeger, speaking during a Wednesday
media briefing. Already underway, the global rollout will continue into 2013,
Kroeger said, at which point "all our customers will be operating in the
new Sabre Profiles environment." Profiles combines an individual
traveler's corporate and leisure profiles, offers enhanced profile search
capabilities and ensures consistency across offline, online and mobile
channels, according to Sabre. It also allows agencies to offer customized and
tailored services and integrate third-party applications and CRM systems. For
corporate travel programs, Kroeger said the new system can connect corporate
and traveler preferences "much more tightly, so that corporate programs
can be managed while meeting the unique needs of travelers."
