Companies with globally consolidated travel management programs on average save 12 percent of total travel spend through standardized travel policies and processes
, according to Carlson Wagonlit Travel. Based on a survey of clients in several regions, the travel management company also found that consolidated air, hotel and car sourcing leads to an average savings of 7 percent. Another 1 percent average savings is derived from standardized booking and fulfillment processes. CWT also found that 60 percent of Europe-based companies and 56 percent of North America-based companies today have a global travel manager.
