American Express Business Travel today announced Michael Qualantone as vice president and general manager of global supplier relations, replacing Andrew Winterton, who resigned in mid-April to become Carlson Wagonlit Travel's president of suppliers, products and technology
(BTNonline, June 22).
Qualantone oversees all strategic global supplier and technology provider relationships. Qualantone also has responsibility for the International Travel Services Network and the Partner Network Worldwide. He joins the global travel services executive team, reporting directly to Charles Petruccelli, president of American Express Global Travel Services.
Qualantone, who has been at American Express for 21 years, most recently served as vice president of the client services group. Qualantone also had stints as vice president of onsites and customer solutions and vice president of global distribution strategy, where he helped develop the TravelBahn DS global distribution system alternative under Winterton, its chief architect.
