Uber and Waymo have expanded their autonomous vehicle partnership beyond Phoenix, and beginning in early 2025, autonomous ride-hailing options will be available in Austin, Texas, and Atlanta, the companies announced Friday.
In these cities, Uber will manage and dispatch a fleet of Waymo’s autonomous, all-electric Jaguar I-Pace vehicles that “will grow to hundreds over time,” according to Uber. Riders who request an UberX, Uber Green, Uber Comfort or Uber Comfort Electric may be matched with a Waymo for qualifying trips.
