Saudia expects to launch in 2027 a premium-economy cabin on newly delivered Boeing 787 aircraft, the carrier announced this week at World Travel Market in London.
The seats also will be installed in existing Boeing 787-10 aircraft in a partial refurbishment, as well as in a larger retrofitted program for additional select existing Boeing 787, Boeing 777 and Airbus A330 aircraft, according to the carrier.
The new seats will feature a pitch of up to 43 inches, a 15.5-inch entertainment screen, an extendable calf rest, "enhanced privacy" and additional personal storage compared with economy seats, according to Saudia.
The Boeing 787-9 and 787-10 aircraft each will include 27 premium-economy seats, along with 24 business-class seats. The Boeing 787-9 also will have 238 economy seats, while the 787-10 will have 297, according to the carrier.
