United Airlines has promoted Sarah Murphy to lead its regional United Express network. Murphy, who joined United in 2006 from Merrill Lynch's investment banking division, most recently was the carrier's VP of global operations strategy, planning and design and also has had executive roles in financial planning and investor relations.
