On Aug. 22, Boston Consulting Group partner and
airline transformation practice managing director Julia Haywood, who has worked
with United on its own network and revenue transformation, joins the carrier as
executive vice president and chief commercial officer. She will take over the
duties of United vice chairman and chief revenue officer Jim Compton, who is
retiring at the end of the year. United also named Andrew Levy as executive
vice president and CFO, a position that has not been permanently filled since
John Rainey left
the carrier for PayPal last year. Levy was an executive at Allegiant Travel
Co., parent of low-cost carrier Allegiant Air, for more than 13 years, including
as president and COO from 2009 to 2014. Senior vice president of finance and
treasurer Gerry Laderman, who has been United's acting CFO, will return to his
previous role.
