U.S. carrier flight cancellations tied for a record monthly
low in November, with 0.3 percent of domestic flights canceled, according to
the Department of Transportation. That ties the record low performance in both
September 2016 and November 2016. Carriers got 88.3 percent of flights to the
gate within 15 minutes of their scheduled times in November, an improvement of
1.8 percentage points year over year. Carriers also improved baggage handling
performance, reporting of 1.83 mishandled bags per 1,000 passengers, down from
2.02 in November 2016.
