Turkish Airlines has begun its "great move," as it switches airport operations from Ataturk International Airport to the new Istanbul Airport. The process, which includes moving 47,300 tons of equipment, is scheduled to be complete by Saturday; the new airport then will adopt the IST airport code, and Ataturk will be used for cargo and VIP passenger flights. Turkish Airlines board and executive committee chair Ilker Ayci said the move is "the biggest transportation operation in aviation history."
