Southwest Airlines on Monday announced several executive
appointments.
- Managing director of customer support and
services James Ashworth has been promoted to VP of that function, following the
retirement of Chris Wahlenmaier, who has held that role since 2014.
- VP of maintenance operations Landon Nitschke has
been promoted to SVP of technical operations.
- VP of operational strategy and performance
Justin Jones has been named VP of technical operations planning and performance.
- Mark Wibben, who has directed Southwest's
engineering team for seven years, has been named VP engineering and programs.
- Former Alaska Airlines VP of maintenance and
engineering Kurt Kinder has joined Southwest as VP of maintenance operations.
- Angela Marano has been promoted to managing
director of business transformation.
- Senior director of aircraft operations Lauren
Woods has been promoted to managing director of technology, enterprise data and
platforms.
- Michael Simmons, who is in charge of
cybersecurity for Southwest, has been named managing director of technology and
chief information security officer.
- Jim Dayton, who has led Southwest's air
operations technology teams since 2017, has been named VP of technology, air
and technical operations.
- Senior director of performance and projects
Colleen Russell has been promoted to managing director of internal audit,
following the retirement of Katherine Findlay from that role.
- Ryan Green, who has been chief marketing officer
since March 2017, has also been named an SVP.
