February 2026 Announcements
For the week ending Feb. 27
Qantas on Dec. 29 will launch seasonal flights between
Sydney and Las Vegas, the carrier announced on Feb. 26. Flights will
operate until March 12, 2027, and operate on Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft
three times weekly. Once commenced, Qantas will be the first airline to offer a
non-stop route between Australia and Las Vegas, according to the carrier.
For the week ending Feb. 20
Porter Airlines on May 21 will begin year-round service between Toronto Pearson and Austin, Texas, the carrier announced Feb. 18. Flights will operate five times weekly. In addition, as of Sept. 1, the airline's service from Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport to Chicago is moving to O'Hare International Airport from Midway. Flights will operate three times daily. A new U.S. Customer and Border Protection preclearance facility is expected to open "in the coming weeks" at Billy Bishop, according to Porter, which will enable passengers to clear U.S. customs prior to departure. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced the new location in October 2024.
JetBlue on May 21 will add nonstop service between Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport and New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport, the carrier announced Feb. 18. Flights will operate twice daily.
For the week ending Feb. 13
Delta Air Lines on Dec. 19 will begin seasonal service between Minneapolis-St. Paul and Maui, the carrier announced Feb. 13. It also on that date will relaunch flights between Boston and Honolulu, a route the carrier last operated for the winter 2024-25 season. Each route will operate with Airbus A330-300 aircraft and begin with daily flights for the holiday season. After the holiday peak, flights between Minneapolis-St. Paul and Maui will operate five times weekly, while the Boston-Honolulu route will operate four times weekly for the rest of the season.
EVA Air on June 26 will launch a new U.S. route between Taipei and Washington Dulles, the carrier announced Feb. 11. Flights will operate four times weekly with Boeing 787-9 aircraft configured with three cabins: Royal Laurel class, Economy class and the carrier's new updated Premium Economy class. The new route will make Washington, D.C., EVA's 10th North American gateway.
Vietnam Airlines on June 16 will launch nonstop flights between Hanoi and Amsterdam, the carrier announced Feb. 9. The route will operate three times weekly with Airbus A350 aircraft. Vietnam Airlines is a member of the SkyTeam Alliance.
Icelandair on Sept. 18 will launch winter service between Reykjavik's international airport and Gdansk, Poland, the carrier announced Feb. 5. The route will operate between three and four times weekly with Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft. It will be the airline's first service to Poland, according to Icelandair.
For the week ending Feb. 6
Delta Air Lines on May 7 will launch nonstop service between New York-JFK and John Wayne Airport in Orange County, Calif., the carrier announced Feb. 6. Flights will operate six times weekly (daily except for Saturdays) on Boeing 757 aircraft configured with Delta One, Comfort and Main cabins. Delta last served this market in 2019, according to the carrier.
Avianca on Feb. 12 will resume its route between Bogotá, Colombia, and Caracas, Venezuela, the carrier announced Feb. 5. Flights will operate daily. "The decision follows a comprehensive assessment of operational and aviation safety conditions conducted in coordination with the appropriate authorities," according to Avianca.
American Airlines in summer 2027 will begin seasonal service between Philadelphia and Porto, Portugal, the carrier announced Feb. 5. Flights will operate daily with Airbus A321XLR aircraft.
