U.K.-based Monarch Airlines has ceased
operations, filing for insolvency on Monday morning. The carrier estimates 110,000
passengers are stranded abroad as a result of the cancellations, and the U.K. Civil
Aviation Authority is coordinating to get those passengers back to the U.K. on
other flights. The BBC reports 860,000 people face canceled bookings.
